This lovely, leisurely circular route combines spectacular views of the Rhinogydd and Llyn Trawsfynydd with the enclosed atmosphere of Coed y Brenin. The walk starts at Penstryd chapel, and climbs gradually along the western flank of Craig y Penmaen. The route follows Sarn Helen, the old Roman road into Coed y Brenin, before crossing Afon Gain and returning along Cwm Cain to the east of Craig y Penmaen.
