Response to Advert

The Miners’ Track on Snowdon is a bridleway on privately owned land and as such, the landowner’s permission is needed for motorised vehicular access.
Whilst SNPA was aware of Hyundai’s plan to use a 4 x 4 on the lower section of the track, it had no role in consenting nor facilitating the filming work.
The stunning location of the Miners’ Track does indeed attract interest from film companies, but granting permission to film and driving a vehicle along the path is a matter which is purely at the landowner’s discretion. Snowdonia National Park Authority has no role to play in consenting nor permitting such work.
The case concerning an individual driving a private 4 x 4 up to the summit of Snowdon was entirely without permission of the landowners, unnecessary damage was made to footpaths, the vehicle was left on SNPA land at the summit and the driver put the lives of himself and others at risk. Substantial costs were incurred in removing the vehicle.
