Cynllun Eryri is here!
25 February 2020
We are half way through the consultation period for the new Snowdonia National Park Management Plan: Cynllun Eryri (‘Eryri’, pronounced e – ru – ree, is the Welsh name for Snowdonia; ‘Cynllun’, pronounced cyn – llin, is the Welsh word for plan).
This Plan has been co-produced with organisations from the voluntary and private sector, councils and environmental bodies as well as land-managers, communities and businesses. As a Partnership, we have listened to your ideas and concerns to generate what we believe is an aspirational yet realistic route for Eryri over the next 5 years. We believe that by working together we can achieve great things.
We’ve kept the Special Qualities* of Eryri at the heart of everything we do and have agreed on a series of measures such as reconnecting fragmented areas of woodland; considering ‘plastic free’ zones within the National Park; implementing new sustainable transport and parking options; and further celebrating our historic environment and our rich cultural heritage, as well as many other exciting things.
Now is the time to have your say. Have we included your ideas and views? Do you agree with what we are planning?
Visit www.eryri.llyw.cymru/cynlluneryri (click on the E at the top of the screen for the English version) to tell us what you think.
Notes to Editors
*Snowdonia has 9 Special Qualities and these are the reason for our designation as a National Park nearly 70 years ago.
