What is special about this trail?
Here you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Mawddach estuary from one of Wales’ highest vantage points which is accessible to wheelchairs. There is approximately 300 metres of path suitable for wheelchair users. The path continues from the end of the accessible path but it is not suitable for wheelchairs.
How to get there?
On the A496 from Dolgellau to Barmouth turn right towards Taicynhaeaf when you reach a crossroad (the turning to your left takes you over Penmaenpool bridge). Drive up the narrow road and when the road forks, bear right and follow the road to the car park. (The nearest post code is LL40 2TU - bear right when the road forks.) The road from the main road to Foel Ispri is extremely narrow with steep slopes in places. There are very few passing places, so you need to be a confident enough driver to reverse along very narrow lengths of road should you need to do so.
